Freight & Delivery

Orders ship crated on a freight truck from Texas and are delivered to the curb. Freight depends on two things, the state it goes to and the total crated weight, and both are published below.

How freight is priced

Freight is one charge for the crated items in the order. Your delivery state sets the zone, and their total crated weight sets the band. Lids and spare liners ship with their receptacle and add only their weight. Orders of $10,000 or more (after quantity prices, before tax) ship free to the lower 48 states and DC, liftgate or limited-access delivery included. Enter your ZIP on any product page, or in the cart, to see the exact amount the checkout charges.

Example

Because freight is charged per order, it rises in steps, not per unit. Here is the 6 ft expanded metal picnic table, 218 lb crated, going to Zone 1.

Two ways to order

Standard orders up to 700 lb can go through online checkout. Everything else starts with a Project Quote.

Up to 700 lb

Online checkout

For orders up to 700 lb total crated weight that ship in standard crates.

  • Freight and tax are calculated at checkout from the table above, curbside.
  • No dock or forklift? Choose the liftgate rate at checkout, $75 more. Schools, parks, churches, campgrounds, gated communities and homes: choose limited access, $100 more, liftgate included.
  • Quantity prices at 5, 10 and 25 units on benches and expanded, perforated and mesh cans are applied automatically at checkout for orders up to 700 lb. Five picnic tables or slatted receptacles weigh more than 700 lb, so their quantity prices, like those on any larger order, come by project quote at the same prices.
  • Pay by card or an express wallet. Online checkout ships to the lower 48 states and DC.

Each product page lists its crated weight.

Over 700 lb and special cases

Project quote

  • Orders over 700 lb total crated weight.
  • The 8 ft welded tables. Their 98 in crate needs an extreme-length freight quote.
  • Purchase orders and tax-exempt orders.
  • Freight quoted for your own lane, and delivery to Alaska, Hawaii or anywhere outside the lower 48.

Delivery day

The driver's job ends at the tailgate. Plan how the crates come off the truck, and check them before you sign.

At the curb

Call ahead, no charge
The carrier calls your site contact to agree a delivery window before the truck rolls.
Curbside delivery
The truck delivers to the curb. Its trailer deck is 48 in off the ground, so unloading needs a loading dock, a forklift or a liftgate.
Liftgate, $75
Needed when there is no dock and no forklift. It lowers the crate from the trailer deck to the pavement, and that is all it does. It does not include placement, assembly or installation. Choose it at checkout, or ask for it in your Project Quote: adding it after the truck has left means a re-billed delivery, which costs much more.
Limited access, $100
Campgrounds, parks, schools, churches, gated communities, homes, job sites and unpaved roads. The liftgate is included. Choose it at checkout, or it is added to your Project Quote.
After unloading
Moving the crates from the pavement is yours.

Before you sign

  1. Check the delivery

Count the crates against the bill of lading (BOL) and look them over while the driver is there.

  2. Note any damage on the BOL

Photograph it and write it on the BOL before the driver leaves. Signing clean makes a later claim harder.

  3. Open the crates

Concealed damage: open the crate and tell us within 5 business days. Opening a crate to inspect for freight damage never disqualifies a return.

  4. We file the claim

We file the carrier claim and coordinate with the manufacturer. You do not chase anybody.
